    • Teaches self-empowerment and self-reliance.
    • Works on alcoholism and addiction as a complex maladaptive behaviors with possible physiological factors.
    • Teaches tools and techniques for self-directed change.
    • Encourages individuals to recover from addiction and live satisfying lives.
    • Provides meetings that are educational and include open discussions.
    • Advocates the appropriate use of prescribed medications and psychological treatments.
    • Evolves as scientific knowledge in addiction recovery evolves.

  • Q: Why does this site exist?
    A: To pass along news and information related to recovery. It is also designed to pass along what I have learned in my study of Buddhism, addiction, psychology, and recovery.
  • Q: Am I a Buddhist?
    A: I consider myself to be a secular Buddhist. As in, when it comes to the religious, more mystical aspects of Buddhism, I am a bit of an agnostic. However, I strongly believe in the the insight and understanding that the Buddhist philosophy provides for living a healthy life in the day-to-day and for a lifetime.
